Surrounded by bush and beach on the Great Ocean Road lives the coastal town of Lorne. Waterfalls, temperate rainforest and ocean views dominate these trails. We have linked up some special local trails and camping spots.  We will be limbered and relaxed with 2 of our very own yoga classes across the 3 days.

 

Together, with a maximum of 7 ladies, you will be hiking 5 - 13 kms per day carrying a light day pack. The trails follow winding and undulating hills which will challenge some. Rewarded with waterfalls, rivers and the pick of the camping grounds. We recommend this journey for active women, ideally but not necessarily, with some previous hiking experience.

What to Expect

Itinerary

Day ONE: Meet at the beach for a briefing and overview of our day. We will follow the coastline, stopping along the way for a barista made coffee and Women of Wander style lunch with a view. Getting into camp nice and early to set up tents and shower before dinner time.  

 

Day TWO: Starting our day with a wholesome breakfast and a yoga class to fuel us for our longest day on the trail. Early on we will meander down to St Georges river and follow it to a network of trails, lunch will be under a waterfall, before ending our day following Cumberland River into camp.


Day THREE: Today we will keep an eye on the tides and have the option for an early walk to the beach before our yoga session. We will then hike back along the river and head up and over to Sheoak Waterfalls to complete our journey. 


Fitness Level

Grade: Active
 

You will work for your supper but with minimal strain on your body - light packs and friendly hiking terrain. We leave plenty of time to reach camp, so distances are physically challenging but very obtainable. The use of yoga will help to limber and relax us each morning.

 

We've had ladies in their mid-30s to their mid-60s loving these trips, so if you’re active and have previous hiking experience, this is the trip for you. Still unsure? Get in touch and we can talk it over.

Health & Wellbeing

The food is cooked fresh, plant-based and organic (where possible). Menu collaborated with our knowledge of what keeps well in the bush and nutritionist, Steph Wearne’s, expert advice.

 

In camp, you will have access to yoga mats, a foam roller and suggested sequences. Our days are active, hiking for most of the day. With small packs and plenty of rests, you will end the day feeling good.
